budget robot vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. robot vacuum cleaners allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It comes with a mop that is excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available, but it packs in many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
